Note that in the side
view of the spine there
are 4 different
curvatures present.
The neck and lower back
(cervical and lumbar
spine) curve inward.
This inward curve is
called a lordosis.
The mid-back and pelvis
(thoracic and sacral
spine) curve outward.
This outward curvature
is known as a kyphosis.
